Programs Sergeant

Seward County Detention Center is accepting applications for the position of a Programs Sergeant!
 

This is highly responsible work in developing, implementing, and overseeing the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) standards and House Arrest Program as well as programming for incarcerated individuals and contributing to the promotion of public safety and community well-being.
This position functions as a compliance analyst responsible for facility audit preparation, compliance and training in relation to PREA. Oversight includes: PREA policy management; manages federal audits; facility compliance site visits; administration and criminal investigation reviews; offender allegation reporting; data analysis; grant and contract management; and mandatory PREA trainings. Work involves researching, developing and implementing house arrest policies and procedures, program eligibility, client contracts, and monitoring compliance.
This position will develop, initiate, and teach programs to incarcerated individuals including classes with Diversion, Wellbeing initiative, TASC, Parenting Class, Anger Management, and Gambling Counseling. The position will also teach rent-wise, and more. This job will include Supervising Classifications for inmates as it plays a crucial role in providing and promoting the safety and well-being of both inmates and staff.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
•Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professional/ethical standards.
•Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office Software.
•Ability to prepare clear, written reports; ability to maintain complex and difficult clerical and statistical records and to prepare detailed reports for such records.
•Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
•Ability to maintain high level of accuracy.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with county officials, judges, court officials, attorneys, outside agencies, law enforcement personnel and the general public.

Starting wage: $30.83 or more per hour, depending on experience.
