Seward Memorial Library invites the community to "An Evening with Ted Kooser". Local Wonders: Seasons in the Bohemian Alps, written by Ted Kooser, was selected by the board of the Nebraska Center for the Book as the 2011 One Book One Nebraska title. Kooser is one of America's most highly regarded poets and served as the United States Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry to the Library of Congress from 2004-2006. He is the author of numerous collections of poetry. In Local Wonders, which is his first book of prose, Kooser describes with detail and humor the rolling hills of the Garland area fondly referred to as the Bohemian Alps. During the one-hour program Ted will read and discuss selections from this personal narrative. His book will be available for purchase and signing. Come and relax with Ted as he shares reflections on his life in our Nebraska community. Refreshments will be served.
