SUMMARY:Saturday Art Classes (5th & 6th grades)
DESCRIPTION:Elementary students are invited to attend art sessions put on by Concordia University\, Nebraska?s art department. \n\n\n\nThe sessions will be led by elementary education and art education majors and will be overseen by Professor and Department Chair of Art Don Robson. All of the sessions will be divided by age group. Art making combined with art history\, aesthetics and constructive criticism will be applied through the teachings of the Concordia students to the elementary students.\n\n\n\n?Concordia students are given\, perhaps\, their first opportunity to design a discipline-based art education unit plan and teach it to children in the age group they desire during a two-hour Saturday session in Brommer Art Center\,? says Robson. ?Due to the size of the class and time constraints\, students work in groups of three to five to plan and develop their teaching experience.?\n\n \n\nThere are 25 seats available per session.
